Daily Itinerary

Day 1 on tour Tuesday, July 29, 2025
Overnight flight to Glasgow

Day 2 on tour Wednesday, July 30, 2025
Included meal: Dinner
 Meet our tour guide.  Free afternoon to exchange currency, explore, meet other group members, possible pre-determined activity to be determined closer to departure.  Dinner is included this evening. 

Day 3 on tour Thursday, July 31, 2025

Sightseeing tour of Glasgow
Drive past St. Andrew's, knowns as the Wilmington Theatre in Outlander, discover local highlights, including George Square where Frank proposes to Claire.  We will enter the city's medieval cathedral, the setting of L'Hopital Des Anges.  The guided tour ends at Kelvingrove Park, where Clair pushes Bree in a stroller in the show.  You now have the option of spending the rest of the day free in Glasgow, or adding an excursion to Sterling Castle for $115.00.

Day 4 on tour Friday, August 1, 2025
Included meal: Breakfast, Dinner
Transfer to the Scottish Highlands
Pass Loch Lomond as we drive through scenic Trossachs National Park.  We'll stop to explore Inveraray Castle and its gardens then continue to take in the stunning scenery as we travel on to the Highlands.

Day 5 on tour Saturday, August 2, 2025
Included meal: Breakfast
Today, we'll pay a visit to the medieval ruins of Urquhart Castle.  We'll cuirse along the legendary Loch Ness and dock in Clansman Harbour.  Then we'll visit Culloden Battlefield where the 1745 Jacobite Rising came to a tragic end.

Day 6 on tour Sunday, August 3, 2025

Eilean Donan Castle & Isle of Skye
spend the day exploring the Isle of Skye and Eilean Donan Castle.  We'll cross the Skye Bridge over Loch Alsh to the Isle of Skye, famous for its association with Bonnie Price Charlie.  Then we will set off for a guided sightseeing tour of the isle, exploring the town of Portree and stopping to view the rock pinnacle known as the Old Man of Storr.  Admire Kilt Rock to soak in breathtaking views before taking a scenic drive through the Scottish Highlands to vist Eilean Donan Castle, where we'll explore the iconic castle with a local guide to learn about its extensive history.

Day 7 on tour Monday, August 4, 2025
Included meal: Breakfast, Dinner
Visit medieval Blair Castle, the former home of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl.  We'll explore Blair Athol Distillery with a guide and enjoy a whiskey tasting.  En route to Edinburgh we'll stop to enter the Kinclaven Bluebell woods, the site of the witness trees that form a time traveling portal.  Upon arrival in Edinburgh we'll sit down to an included dinner.

Day 8 on tour Tuesday, August 5, 2025

Sightseeing tour of Edinburgh and the Military Tattoo
Today is also very busy.  We will view the elegant Georgian new Town and the Royal Mile.  We'll pass the King George statue, Bute House, and Sir Walter Scott monument, then stop to see the Bakehouse Close, an icon of old Edinburgh and where Jamie's print shop is based.  We'll enter Edinburgh Castle to view the Scottish crown jewels and Stone of Scone.  You then have the choice to spend the afternoon as free time in Edinburgh, or add an excursion to the Palace of Holyroodhouse and afternoon tea for $135.  Tonight, we'll join thousands of others under the lights of Edinburgh Castle for an evening of military bands, dance, and performances at the Military Tattoo.

Day 9 on tour Wednesday, August 6, 2025
Included meal: Breakfast, Dinner
Today is another busy day!  We will enter Midhope Castle, known as Lallybroch in Outlander, Explore the well-preserved ruinsat Linlithgow Palace, Set inside Doune Castle, the real-life Castle Leoch, continue on to Falkland Palace, home to Mary, Queen of Scots, then end the day in Culross Village.  Tonight we'll head ot a private room in a restaurant to meet with a professional bagpipe player.  Don't worry, you'll have your chance to try your hand at playing!

Day 10 on tour Thursday, August 7, 2025
Included meal: breakfast
Head to the airport for our flight back to the USA

Tour price:

Trip cost starts at $5,691*  per double occupancy, and $6,501 per single occupancy.  Prices include round trip airfare from Washington Dulles International, all transportation while in Scotland, all hotels, all breakfasts, four dinners, and all entrance fees to things designated in the itinerary.  Tips (see FAQ page), insurances, all remaining meals, and transportation to and from the airport are on your own.

Price dependent upon number of travelers. After 20 travelers enroll price drops to $5,709, and after 27 to $5,509 (per double occupancy. Add $810 for single). 

If you would like to book your own airfare, you can remove $1,612 from the price of the tour.  You will then assume all responsibilities of getting yourself to Scotland to meet the rest of the group, and taking care of any and all delays.
